Canby Junior Basketball

Instructional League
For players in the 1st and 2nd grades.

The players receive instruction that is developmental in nature including both individual skill (fundamentals) and team play. The players will have opportunity to experience game situations. Emphasis is placed on making the experience fun and enjoyable. There are sessions with girls and boys combined. They will have a 7 week season beginning in November. The first two weeks will be instructional, the following 5 weeks will be games/practices. All Instructional League will take place on Saturdays.  The High School Varsity Coaches are actively involved as well as High School Players.

Cost is $55.00 and includes a team shirt.

In-Town League
For players in 3rd though 5th grade. All skill levels are welcome!

There are no tryouts or player cuts, all sign-ups play. CJB has developed a team placement day to allow each player to be evaluated and placed on a team assuring parity in all teams. No teams are pre-picked. All teams are comprised of Canby High School District students and all games are played in the school district. There is a girls season and a boys season which lasts 9-10 weeks each and begins in January. Activities will average two nights a week, Monday through Friday.

Cost is $75.00 and includes a team shirt.

Traveling Team
For more experienced players in 5th through 8th grade.

Team placement will take place on a given day/s where each player will be evaluated for skill level. It is CJB's goal to give all players the opportunity to participate and as long as there are leagues available we will do so. Some leagues are more competitive than others which we will place players/teams into as their talent warrants. Some games will be out of town and all against non district teams. Participants must be committed to this league as weekends are used to practice and games as well as week nights.

Player Fees are $175 for 5th & 6th graders and $225 for 7th & 8th graders. Uniforms are purchased separately, when needed, and cost $10 for shorts and $35 for the jersey (uniforms are expected to last more than one season).

Canby Junior Basketball Payment Policy
If a parent or guardian cannot pay fees at the time of registration options are available:
A payment schedule can be arranged with the Treasurer. The parent or guardian is responsible for making prompt payments as agreed to with the Treasurer.

Scholarships are available upon request. In return, Canby Junior Basketball request the parent or guardian to fill out a scholarship form and make commitment to volunteer their time to Canby Junior Basketball during the basketball season.

Canby Junior Basketball asks that all outstanding fees from the previous season be paid before registration. Current year registrations cannot be accepted until past due balances are paid.
